Oak Park cross country are statistically in one of their best seasons in school history, with the top 5 guys all under 17 minutes and 30 seconds for a 5K and pulling ten guys under 19 minutes for the first time ever!

The boys' varsity had a school best team average of 16:50, they have maintained being ranked top 20 in the state all season. Currently Oak Park is ranked number six in the district and need to pull through for a top four spot if they want to compete at the state meet. This week is the conference championship hosted by your Northmen at the DAC. The boys are seeded second for conference in a tight race with Lees Summit High School, it certainly will be a meet to pay attention to as they aim for their 3^rd conference championship in the last 4 years! The only question is, will the Northmen keep the same momentum in the postseason that they have had all season long?
 
            Recently then cross-country team competed at the Kearney Invitational at Jesse James Park. The entire team competed well, bringing home 18 total medals The boys' varsity finished 3^rd overall as a team under Hickman High School who are currently ranked 15^th in the state and Liberty North High School who are currently ranked number 1 in the state. On the girl's side '25 Alaina Thomas is looking to be one of the best freshmen in the conference meet seeded to finish 12^th overall!
