Kendall Angelo, known by her teammates as “Kendi,” is a dedicated junior at Oak Park High School who has been wrestling for two years. Her passion and focus are fully committed to the sport, constantly seeking opportunities to improve and refine her skills on the mat.
Kendi is a trailblazer in her family, being the first to pursue wrestling, and her hard work has paid off with multiple 1st place awards throughout her wrestling career. Her favorite memory in the sport is competing at the state tournament held at Mizzou in Columbia, Missouri — an experience that fueled her drive to keep growing as an athlete.
A significant influence on Kendi’s wrestling journey has been Coach Taylor, who has guided her both during the season and in life beyond the mat. In the offseason, Kendi stays committed by attending summer workouts and practices to ensure she’s always prepared for the next challenge.
Outside of wrestling, Kendi’s favorite class at Oak Park High School is Environmental Science with Mr. Fuller. Although she doesn’t have any siblings at OP, she’s carved out a strong sense of family within the wrestling community, leaving a lasting impact as a dedicated and hard-working athlete.
With her determination and drive, Kendi embodies the spirit of Oak Park and is sure to achieve even greater success in the future.
