Oak Park High School is proud to announce Haley Cope as the new head coach of the tennis team! After years of dedicated service as the assistant coach, Cope is stepping into her new role with energy, vision, and a deep love for both the sport and the school community.

Coach Cope's passion for coaching stems from her commitment to Oak Park and the students who represent it. "Coaching has given me the opportunity to step into a different space to work with students," she shared. It's the relationships she's built over the years that have kept her motivated, and she's excited to continue creating those connections in her new role.

Thinking back on valuable lessons from her time as assistant coach, Cope plans to carry forward strong organizational practices and a focus on clear communication with athletes and parents. Her goals for the program are both ambitious and inspiring. Cope aims to improve the team's win record in the short term while building a foundation for long term success, including strengthening feeder programs and bringing home a conference title.

Inspired by her mentor Tana Stock, who coached for over 40 years, Cope looks to honor long standing traditions while introducing new strategies like combining conditioning with technical skills to make the most of every practice. Though her title may have changed, Coach Cope remains dedicated to putting her athletes first and nurturing their growth. Congratulations, Coach Cope! Oak Park is lucky to have you leading the way.
