Oak Park High School is proud to celebrate Emma Donegan as this week's Athlete of the Week. Emma, now a junior, has been an integral part of the tennis team since her freshman year and plans to return for another season. 

Emma's passion for tennis began in 8th grade when she first played with her sister, a former Oak Park tennis player. Tennis runs in the family, as both her mom and sister also played during their high school years. With her sister's guidance and her families support, Emma quickly developed a love for the sport. 

One of Emma's toughest matches this season was against Northtown's number one player, a challenge she faced with determination and grace. But for Emma, tennis is about more than just competition. What she enjoys most is the sense of community. "Playing with the same people every day and being able to laugh with them is such a privilege. I've met some of my favorite people through tennis," Emma shares. She also credits the coaches for their unwavering support, expressing that they genuinely care about the players and their growth. 

Emma's positive attitude, commitment to her team, and love for the game make her an exemplary player, and we can't wait to see what she achieves next season! Congratulations, Emma!
