New Faces and Increased Numbers Set Stage for New Goals

The 2019-2020 Oak Park girls swim season is off to a great start! The team is looking to get the Conference Title this year under the leadership of Coach Rose and Coach Hall.

Rose said,

"Our goals this season are to improve our techniques of our stokes, win a conference title, and finally take a team to state this year."

Coach Rose is also very excited about how many girls they have on the team this year. They welcome seven incoming freshmen to the team.

Rose said,

"I'm extremely excited about all the new and returning girls we have on the team. It is one of the biggest turn outs we've had in a while."

The team is led by seniors Kayla Whitebread and Anna Behr who are very excited for the season and think they will have a good outcome this year.

Whitebread says,

"My personal goals are to set new times for myself and my team goal is bond with each other and have fun."

The girls are working very hard to prepare for their first meet. They have been having practice in the mornings and after school to try to improve their times.

Junior Leah Beatty says,

"To prepare for the first meet I'm working hard at practice to improve my times, going to morning and afternoon practice, and eating healthier."

The Northmen's season kicks off December 3rd at 4 pm at the Gladstone Community Center against Park Hill.
