Heidi Knaak has been teaching Physical Education & Health and coaching in the North Kansas City School District since 2001. She graduated from Waverly- Shell Rock High School (Waverly, Iowa) and was a 4 sport all conference varsity athlete in Volleyball, Basketball, Track, and Softball.
Coach Knaak went on to play volleyball and softball at Buena Vista University (Storm Lake, Iowa) 1991-94. While at BV, she played 3rd base and was recognized as an all-conference player ’92, ’92, ‘93. She is a two time All- American as well being inducted in the BVU Hall of Fame in 2015 and her 1992 team was inducted in 2019.
Heidi has been an assistant coach for the Oak Park softball program for 10 years. She is also an assistant track coach at Liberty High School.
Coach Knaak brought the whole family to Oak Park, husband, Craig, is a teacher & coach and they share the halls with Kerian '21 and Karl '23.
