This week, Hunter McGhee has been selected for our Competitor of the Week! Qualifier for Smash Solos at state, Hunter McGhee has been described as "Always having been a dominant player in Smash Bros from day one. He has also pushed many of our players to get better at Smash Bros so we could be more competitive as a team. He is knowledgeable about each character and map and provides guidance to our team when striking stages in matches." To learn more about him, we asked Hunter a couple questions about his time in eSports, and here's what he had to say:

Question: How long have you been in eSports, and what made you join?
Answer: I've been in eSports since October of 2024 and I joined because a friend told me I should since I'm good at Smash Bros 

Q: What has been your favorite memory from eSports?
A: Meeting new people at events and making friends.

Q: If there was one person you had to say influenced you the most, who would you say that is, and how did they influence you?
A: I can't think of specifically one person but probably my friends for supporting me and helping me improve.

Hunter's time in eSports has brought many victories and rewards, with him participating in two tournaments that rewarded him over four thousand dollars in scholarships, and there's still more to come. Congratulations Hunter! And as always: GO NORTHMEN!
