In an electrifying match-up, the Class 6 #7 Oak Park High School Northmen (4-0) showcased their dominance and offensive prowess against the Class 5 #6 Platte County Pirates (3-1). 

The Northmen, led by their exceptional quarterback, #2, ‘24 Aiden Hinkle, emerged victorious with a final score of 35-14.

The game started with an impressive defensive play by #22, ‘24 Kalil Gill, intercepting a pass on a #31, '25 Cam Wahl tip, and returning it 42 yards for a touchdown, setting the tone for the Northmen's performance. The crowd erupted as #17, ‘24  Matthew Solorio's kick put Oak Park on the board with a 7-0 lead.

The Northmen continued to impress in the first quarter as #7, ‘24 Evan Braxton hauled in a 39-yard pass from Aiden Hinkle, extending the lead to 14-0 after another successful kick by Solorio. The Northmen defense did not hold back, #11, ‘25 Gidion Gakmar secured another interception; bringing the control back to Oak Park. 

In the second quarter, the Oak Park offense remained relentless, with Aiden Hinkle showcasing his versatility with a 43-yard run for another touchdown, further widening the gap to 21-0. The Oak Park defense did not let up against the Pirate’s offense, causing enough pressure that they managed two interceptions by #8, ‘25 Emanuel Kok. 

Platte County managed to find the end zone in the third quarter, putting up 7 points with a 2-yard run and successful kick, but Oak Park's defense held strong, maintaining a 21-7 lead. On the defensive end, #59, ‘24 Benjamin Brandes had a QB sack for a loss of 9 yards. 

As the game progressed to the fourth quarter, Oak Park's offense showed resilience and determination. #2, ‘24 Aiden Hinkle once again exhibited his skill, scoring a 3-yard run touchdown, bolstering the Northmen's lead to 28-7. Despite Platte County's valiant efforts, they managed to secure another touchdown with an 8-yard pass, closing the gap to 28-14. However, Oak Park remained in control, sealing their victory with a final touchdown by #1, ‘25 Travon Pankey, securing the 35-14 triumph with #17, ‘24 Matthew Solorio's successful kick. #9, ‘24 Churchill Coates had a sack for a loss of 14 yards, further exemplifying the Northmen. #8, ‘25 Kok once again caught an interception, keeping everyone on their toes and electrifying all Oak Park fans. The game ended with an impressive interception by #5, ‘24 Michael Davis.

The Oak Park High School Northmen displayed exceptional teamwork, talent, and strategy, proving themselves as a dominant force on the football field. The Northmen’s defense was the real star of the show, hauling in 6 interceptions throughout the game. Congratulations to the Northmen on their well-deserved victory!
