In a highly anticipated NKC District rivalry match-up, the Oak Park High School Northmen (7-0) faced off against the North Kansas City Hornets (2-5), showcasing an impressive display of skill and determination. The game took place under the Friday night lights at the fabled North Kansas City Football Stadium, and Oak Park fans were treated to an up-close and exceptional performance from their team.
 
The first quarter kicked off with a bang as '25 #1 Travon Pankey of Oak Park, made a spectacular 27-yard run, swiftly followed by a successful '24 #17 Matthew Solorio kick, putting the Northmen on the scoreboard at 7-0. North Kansas City responded with a 31-yard pass for a touchdown, although their subsequent two-point conversion attempt failed, bringing the score to 7-6.
 
In the second quarter, Oak Park continued to dominate, with '24 #7 Evan Braxton securing a 9-yard run and '24 #17 Matthew Solorio making a successful kick, extending their lead to 14-6.
 
As the game progressed into the third quarter, the Northmen showed their prowess, adding more points to their tally. #7 Braxton made an impressive 45-yard pass from '24 #2 Aiden Hinkle, followed by a successful Solorio kick, pushing the score to 21-6. An unfortunate safety occurred for North Kansas City due to an overthrown snap, giving Oak Park an additional two points, making it 23-6. #7 Braxton displayed his versatility once again with a remarkable 45-yard run, although the subsequent kick was unsuccessful, bringing the score to 29-6.
 
The final quarter saw Oak Park maintain their momentum, with '25 #1 Travon Pankey making a 37-yard run, accompanied by a successful Solorio kick, widening the gap to 36-6. To seal the victory, #1 Pankey made an electrifying 45-yard pass from #2 Aiden Hinkle, securing the win with another successful kick by Solorio, resulting in an impressive 43-6 victory for the Oak Park High School Northmen.
 
The Northmen showcased exceptional teamwork and individual performances, demonstrating their dominance on the field. The Oak Park community celebrated this well-deserved victory and eagerly anticipates their future performances as the season progresses.

Oak Park travels to St. Joseph on Friday night to take on the 6-1 Central Indians in an important Conference game that has District implications.
