Northmen Hold the Patriots to Six for the Tie

The first quarter was a touch defensive struggle between two strong teams.

Oak Park seemed to be gaining the advantage in the second quarter
but misfortune kept them from crossing the Truman goal.

Oak Park missed
an important first down by inches, officials call "disconcerted Coach Dye", and a lost fumble inside the Patriot 4 yard line were factors.

The half ended 0-0.

Tom Dodd and Jack Armstrong sparked the Oak Park offensive push
in the third quarter. Armstrong ran the final yard. The kick failed and Oak Park held the lead going into the fourth quarter. Truman turned to the air and after several passes fell incomplete or were thwarted by Big Blue defenders, the Patriots scored.

Two minutes
remained in the game.

Tom Dodd made certain the Northmen defensive effort would not be wasted. He blocked the try for an extra point preserving the tie.

The game
ended 6-6.
