Oak Park dominated their first ever football game but came away with a 0-0 tie.
The tone of the contest was set early as the Big Blue forced Westport to punt on their first possession. Oak Park marched 60 yards but a delay of game penalty stopped the drive. A clipping penalty interrupted the next offensive possession and clipping called back a long run by Jack Armstrong.
Fullback Harold Grissum was able to move the ball but each drive was killed by penalty. Westport could not budge the Northmen defense but the Northmen could not cross the Tiger goal line.
The Northmen's Log September 24, 1965 edition put a positive face on the result- "OAK PARK COMES INTO ITS FIRST CONFERENCE GAME UNDEFEATED AND UNSCORED ON."
