The Oak Park Northmen have an amazing start to their season with a 4-0 record coming off with a win against Grain Valley 5 to 1, they will be looking to better their record this Monday against rivals Northtown.
Â
A SEASON FOR THE HISTORY BOOKS
Â
The Northmen have not experienced this sort of start in 8 seasons. The fact that they are winning is not a surprise, it's how they are doing it, with an astonishing 19 goals in 4 games. Last year the Northmen ended up with a 13-10 record that they hope to better this season and it is looking good for them so far. The Northmen have 3 games coming up this week starting with Northtown then Ruskin and Fort Osage which are great opportunities for the Northmen. If they pull through this week, we could see a record of 7-0, which would be a first for Head coach
Josh Howard in his 8 years  at Oak Park. This team is excited for and ready to try to accomplish this feat, the first hurdle will be North Kansas City on Monday.
Â
THE RIVALRYÂ
Â
The Northmen and the Hornets have had a long lasting rivalry and have been the biggest games every year for the Northmen, they have fought for conference champs in previous years and the Northmen have had tough losses against the Hornets and very close games that have gone through OT and all the way to the penalty box for penalty shoot out to determine the winner. The number one thing that the Northmen use as motivation is that the Northmen haven't won a game against the Hornets in 4 years so the Northmen plan on breaking this losing streak this Monday. Something else that pushes the Northmen for this win is that the Hornets have lost to Grain Valley 3-2 and the Northmen have previously beat them 5-1, so we should be ready to see a great performance this Monday by your Northmen.
