Northmen Travel to Grandview for the Season Finale

As the regular season comes to a close, the Oak Park Northmen will face the Grandview Bulldogs in the very last game of the 2020 regular season.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE BULLDOGS

Last year, the Bulldogs had success against the Northmen in the run game, but this year their strength is in the air game. They like to throw the ball deep, and often they come down with it.  The Grandview defense also is not something to look down on, last year they forced some key turnovers that shifted the momentum of the game.

THE NORTHMEN OFFENSE

The Northmen will continue their established run game this week. '22 KeAndre Braxton is looking to get over the 1,000 yard mark heading into the last regular game of the season. Braxton is currently at 880 yards, with just 120 yds to go. He also will get more chances to get over that 1,000 mark and stride for more yards in the playoffs.

'23 Marlon Gant Jr. leads the team with eight touchdowns. He came away with a long touchdown reception against the rivaling Staley Falcons, and a very athletic spin move against the Hornets that led him into the endzone. '22 Ty Clemens will keep looking for ways to get his guys into the endzone and keep his offense moving.

The offensive line holds a lot of the team leaders. '21 Alijah Manning, '21 Jackson White, '21 Michael Larson are among them. These three have been paving the way for '22 KeAndre Braxton and '23 Marlon Gant Jr. to have their success on the field.

THE NORTHMEN DEFENSE

The Northmen defense looks to bounce back and will need the ball to bounce their way this week. Versus Staley, the Northmen forced five fumbles, recovering zero and watching one sneak past them for a touchdown. Against the Hornets the ball was on the ground a couple more times with no avail, and the defense was just a few big plays away from completely shutting down the Hornets. The Northmen are confident in their Bulldog game plan, and will find opportunities to get the Northmen offense back on the field.
